After completing her training, Dr. Anu Davis was faculty at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she started and built clinics focused on endocrine dysfunction in pregnancy, thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration. Houston endocrinologist, Dr. Davis, also practiced both inpatient and outpatient general endocrinology at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Harris County Hospital District and as part of UT Physicians. She was teaching faculty at the medical school, in the Department of Internal Medicine and in the Division of Endocrinology; and served as Associate Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship program. She continues to work on quality improvement projects with UT Houston and the Memorial Hermann Hospital system, and she serves as volunteer faculty at Baylor College of Medicine and UT Health Medical School.
Dr. Davis’ medical interests include general endocrinology, diabetes management, thyroid dysfunction, nodular thyroid disease, thyroid cancer, polycystic ovary syndrome, and endocrine dysfunction in pregnancy. She has also served as an advisor for Dress for Success Houston’s health initiative. She is married and has two children.
Gia Washington Readoux, PhD, ABPP
Gia Washington, Ph.D. ABPP, is a licensed clinical psychologist within the Psychology Service at Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Washington is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Psychology in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and board certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Dr. Washington completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed in Clinical Child Psychology at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Washington holds Master of Science and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University and Master of Arts degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Washington contributes significantly to the training and supervision of the Psychology Service’s pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows. She held the position of Training Director for the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program within the Psychology Service from 2009-2016 and remains an active participant in the training program’s didactic and topic seminar programs. Dr. Washington often provides trainings for providers on multicultural competence, provider well-being and the ethical responsibility of self-care. Her professional interests are in workplace incivility, conflict management, adolescent development, gender socialization, and mental health issues and cultural practices of African Americans.
Dr. Washington also owns Gia Readoux Coaching and Consulting, where she conducts coaching programs for individuals interested in improving communication skills in their work environments and in romantic relationships.
