Russell Richard has expansive leadership experience in corporate and nonprofit sectors. After working as a Public Affairs Executive, he joined Center for Houston’s Future as Director of Leadership and Engagement in 2009. The Center for Houston’s Future brings business and community together through regional research and planning, strengthening the base of diverse leadership, and informing people about future challenges and opportunities.

In his role as Director of Leadership and Engagement, Richard serves as a key member of the executive team responsible for managing and allocating the organization’s annual operating budget. Additionally, he plans, organizes, and facilitates the organization’s biannual Business/Civic Leadership Forum (the organization’s oldest ongoing program) where business, political, nonprofit and community leaders discuss and find solutions to civic challenges. Richard helps leaders to think long-term, to act strategically and to move with common purpose for the collective well-being of the Houston region.

Richard’s civic leadership is far-reaching. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees, including March of Dimes of North Texas, Gulf Coast Retailers Association, North Texas Food Bank, Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Dallas, Texas Retailers Association Education Foundation, Greater Houston Partnership Government Relations Advisory Committee, Susan G.
